Emily is a published author and editor with more than 20 years of experience writing for a wide variety of magazines, blogs, and books. She’s collaborated with designers, illustrators, photographers, and other writers to develop quality content across multiple print and digital mediums. Prior to joining Peoria Magazines, Emily was an independent writer and consultant for four years and before that she was an acquisitions editor for Rockport Publishers based in Beverly, Mass., for nearly eight years. She grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and moved to Peoria in the early 90s to attend Bradley University where she earned her degree in Journalism. Married with two daughters (Posh Spice and Sporty Spice), and a crazy Australian Shepherd, Emily lives in the historic Uplands neighborhood in a 100-year-old home. When she’s not working, she can usually be found on the sidelines of a soccer/basketball game or track meet for her younger daughter--depending on the season—or driving her older daughter to the mall or social events.
