It’s difficult to imagine opening a business in the middle of a global pandemic, yet that's exactly what Cody Scogin did earlier this year.

For the second year in a row, Peoria Magazines has partnered with the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship at Bradley University to recognize and celebrate our region’s entrepreneurs, innovators, startups, businesses and the people who support them.

After serving the 18th Congressional District for more than 25 years, she began her role as chief executive officer for the Center for Prevention of Abuse in 2015, guiding its mission to help all people live peaceful lives, free from violence and abuse.

A fundraising effort is underway to cast and place sculptures of Dr. Vivian in Peoria, Macomb, and Atlanta, Georgia.

The simple act of delivering a meal and good cheer stands in for Peoria’s incredible nonprofit community, as well as the central importance of home in the days of COVID-19.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we are publishing as scheduled, offering complimentary copies and digital resources, and asking for your stories and support.

Our plans for this issue’s cover were thwarted by the closure of local retail establishments due to the pandemic. But soon, a timely alternative made itself known.

As we face this unprecedented crisis, Peoria Magazines plans to limit social interactions. While we maintain regular working hours, our art gallery is temporarily closed for public viewing.
