Vance U. Jordan III

Vance U. Jordan III is a mechanical engineering associate at Farnsworth Group with expertise in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and plumbing systems. He has participated in a number of significant building projects throughout the Peoria area, ranging from several thousands of dollars to multi-million-dollar developments. Besides excelling in his duties as a technician and designer, he serves as a mentor to younger staff and is a champion for his clients, bringing purpose, passion and a can-do attitude to all of his projects. 

Jordan is often selected to participate in leadership opportunities at Farnsworth Group, including its 2021 Leadership Mentor program. He is also a regular participant in the firm’s charitable activities supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs, United Way, Angel Tree, and efforts related to National Engineers Week and National Engineers Day.

Beyond his engineering skills, Jordan has been a strong advocate for STEM efforts and is particularly passionate about expanding diversity, equity and inclusion in his profession. He has been instrumental in promoting the engineering profession to multicultural university students, serving as public affairs chairman of the National Society of Black Engineers at his alma mater, the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He has also served as a representative for the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.

Jordan has been actively involved with Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters, serving as a mentor and Big Brother, and is an ongoing volunteer for the United Way, currently serving on the Heart of Illinois United Way Campaign Cabinet. He is also passionate about the arts, taking lead and support roles in multiple productions with Peoria Players and Corn Stock Theatre. He has served as dance leader for Ministry in Action, his church’s dance team for boys, and he writes and performs poetry as well. His passion, integrity, tireless professional efforts, and drive to improve the region is a testament to his boundless community spirit. PM
