Christell Yosunni Frausto is an entrepreneur, business owner and president of the Greater Peoria Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer-based organization dedicated to supporting local businesses and preserving Hispanic culture. While doing remarkable work for her community under the Chamber umbrella, she is also an agent for Farmers Insurance and owner of TequilaRia Wine and Spirits and CFS United Inc., and is currently in the process of opening a number of other new businesses.

Frausto helped form the Greater Peoria Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, now in its third year, which has become embedded in Peoria as a valuable community resource. As a Chamber leader, she is dedicated to connecting people, advocating for businesses, and working with community leaders to develop strategies and connect resources.

As a board member of the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council and the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship at Bradley University, Frausto helps direct regional economic development strategies at a high level. She was an integral part of The Big Table, a community-building effort by the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the board of the Peoria Civic Center Authority and the City of Peoria’s Fair Housing Commission.

Frausto has organized and hosted more than 30 community events in recent years, from coordinating family and cultural activities for the Peoria Park District and Peoria Public Library to volunteering her time at Trewyn Middle School, Knoxville Center for Student Success, and Woodruff Career and Technical Center. She is a member of Rotary International and has worked with the Peoria Latin Soccer Club, Peoria Folklore Ballet and the National Association of Women Business Owners’ Central Illinois Chapter to organize fundraisers, improve marketing and promote the organizations. She was honored for her efforts with the 2020 Census and received the Business Pioneer Award from the Black Business Alliance Peoria Chapter for her leadership in the business community. PM
