A rising star at RLI, Amy Braet is assistant vice president of Total Rewards, overseeing the team that administers human resources information systems and rewards programs, including salary administration, incentive compensation, recognition, health, retirement, life, disability and wellness benefits. She also serves as an HR business partner supporting the company’s excess and surplus lines group, and has been involved with various initiatives to further RLI’s rewards programs, from introducing progressive wellness screenings and a new overall wellbeing program, to overseeing the successful implementation of a new HR information system.
Braet serves on RLI’s Retirement Plans Committee and is an active participant in its Employee Mentor Program. She holds an MBA and numerous professional credentials—including Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and SHRM-CP—and is pursuing her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. In 2018 she led the company to be named a Top 3 finalist for Plansponsor Magazine’s Plan Sponsor of the Year Award.
Outside of the workplace, Braet’s passion for the mission of Easterseals is fueled by her personal experience having a sibling with special needs. She has served on the Easterseals Run.Walk.Roll Committee for five years, co-chairing the event for four, and was recently elected to serve on the Easterseals Board of Directors.
As a member of the Family House Board of Directors, Braet has served on the Executive Committee, chaired the Hospitality Committee, and helped to create and execute a strategic plan to improve the guest and volunteer experiences. She has volunteered for Special Olympics basketball events, prepped food at Midwest Food Bank, participated in the Reading Buddies program at Kellar Primary School, and served as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and assistant coach for the Peoria Notre Dame 8U girls’ softball team.
