By relocating operations to Keller Station, [CxT] can expand its contract roasting program.

A unique public-private partnership between the Peoria Park District and The Kim Group, Keller Station is revitalizing seven acres of abandoned buildings in the heart of the city. Located adjacent to Donovan Park and the Rock Island Trail, the mixed-use development will contain office, retail, restaurants and an indoor market, as well as pop-up outdoor space and a platform patio area for community activities. This project embodies the Park District’s mission of providing spaces to live, work and play within our community.

The Kim Group is working with the City of Peoria and IDOT to extend Prospect Avenue across Knoxville Avenue directly into Keller Station, providing a safe way for people to cross Knoxville in order to make it a walkable development. In addition, we are excited to announce [CxT] Roasting Company will be one of the first tenants at Keller Station. [CxT] will be located right off the indoor market, sharing an outdoor patio area with it. Further announcements of local businesses expanding at Keller Station will be made soon.

Small Business Vibrancy
[CxT] Roasting Company is a family-owned and operated business that focuses on specialty-grade coffees and teas. All of their coffee is small-batch roasted in-house by certified roastmaster and Peoria-area native, Tristan Popadziuk. [CxT] currently operates out of two locations in downtown Peoria, but they are running out of space! By relocating their roasting operations to Keller Station, [CxT] can broaden its wholesale coffee offerings, expand its contract roasting program, and offer more comprehensive packages for corporate offices and events.

[CxT] prides itself on providing a large selection of coffees from the best producer countries to create tailormade flavor profiles and blend recipes for several area businesses and organizations. Moreover, the new roasterie will feature a full-service coffee bar with ample seating and a delightful atmosphere.

“When I started roasting coffee in my garage four years ago, I could only dream of opening a roasterie,” Popadziuk says. “[Cxt] at Keller Station is the realization of so much passion and effort bolstered by the embracing support of my community. My heart thanks Peoria and The Kim Group for bringing our vision to fruition. The future is bright, and coffee is vibrant!”

Coffee Lovers United
With this expansion, the company plans to launch [CxT] Roasting Coterie, a coffee lovers club which seeks to bring together people with an interest in coffee tasting, brewing and roasting that goes a cut above casual curiosity and dives into some of the more technical aspects of the craft. Coterie members will join [CxT] experts in evaluating coffee at tasting sessions, learning about coffee varietals and producer countries, and experiencing the many facets of coffee roasting at its production facility.

The [CxT] family will showcase their services and teach all those interested about the many products they offer here in Peoria. Launch week events include:

  • Monday, September 23, 4-6pm [Employee Night]
  • Tuesday, September 24, 4-6pm [Corporate Services Night]
  • Wednesday, September 25, 9-11am [Wholesale & Contract Roasting Day]
  • Thursday, September 26, 5:30- 7:30pm [Coterie Launch Night]
  • Friday, September 27, 8am [Ribbon Cutting & Soft Opening]
