Chad Cunningham is the VIP campaign manager at Easter Seals of Central Illinois, overseeing all aspects of its largest fundraising initiative, the $1 million VIP Campaign. He is also responsible for the Easter Seals Disability Awareness Program and Blackout Program, which promotes disability education in schools, as well as the annual Black and Blue Ball, Ladies Auxiliary Fashion Show and Limestone Easter Seals fundraiser.
A proud champion for Easter Seals, Cunningham has built a tremendous record of accomplishment at the local, regional and national levels, impacting countless lives on his quest to help children overcome disabilities to achieve their full potential. His long history with the organization began when he received services at just 18 months old, an experience which helped shape and prepare him for his current leadership role. In 2004, he served as the National Easter Seals Adult Representative, traveling 17 states and three countries to build awareness and advance the cause. After his ambassadorship ended, he worked with the Easter Seals affiliate in Metropolitan Chicago, where he was named Employee of the Year in 2005.
In 2011, Cunningham returned to Easter Seals of Central Illinois as a rehabilitation technician in program services, working hands-on with clients. Promoted to development associate in 2013, he supported the development director on campaign initiatives, fundraising, friend-raising and special events. Later that year, he stepped into a leadership position as campaign coordinator, before ascending to his current position. With his vast network of contacts, one senior-level colleague referred to him as the greatest relationship connector she has ever seen.
Cunningham has been co-leader of United Way campaign efforts within Easter Seals since 2013 and a participant in Relay for Life for the last two years. A volunteer for the East Peoria Festival of Lights and member of the East Peoria Rotary Club, his passion for community service goes above and beyond the call of duty. He is also a devoted family man, having recently welcomed the birth of a baby daughter. iBi
