Described as someone who leads by example and gets things done, Stacy Crabtree is an associate attorney for Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen. In her short time practicing law, she has proven to be an exceptional, goal-oriented young professional, winning the trust and confidence of those around her.
Active with the Peoria County Bar Association (PCBA), Crabtree serves as chair of its Special Committee on Mentoring, vice chair of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee and member of the Young Lawyer’s Committee. In addition to pairing area attorneys in mentoring relationships, she chaired the Law Day Essay Writing Contest for middle-school students and brought a wide range of speakers together for the PCBA’s Government and Public Interest Continuing Legal Education Seminar.
A board member of the Greater Peoria Claims Association, Crabtree helped coordinate seminars on workers’ compensation and property damage claims. She is part of the Heyl Royster Women’s Forum and was selected to be on the Women’s Forum committee. She also serves as the firm’s United Way campaign co-coordinator and has had articles published by the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel’s Quarterly Journal, Illinois Parks Association Risk Services and The National Law Review. In addition, she was asked to co-author a chapter for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Civil Appellate Practice handbook.
Since 2012, Crabtree has served on the board of directors of City Dance NFP, which provides mentoring and arts lessons to underserved youth. From 2012 to 2013, she took on more than a dozen cases pro bono for Prairie State Legal Services, and for two years, she chaired the Halloween Blood Drive offered by the American Red Cross in conjunction with the PCBA. She has also volunteered for the South Side Office of Concern and Habitat for Humanity, and offered legal services through the Wills and Advance Directive Clinic at Peoria’s Neighborhood House.
A 2014 graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School, she currently serves on its planning committee. She also volunteers with Elevate Church in Morton. iBi
