Scott Rinkenberger

P.J. Hoerr, Inc.

For 18 years, Scott Rinkenberger has worked for P.J. Hoerr, one of central Illinois’ premier construction management and design/build firms. As director of construction operations in the healthcare division, he is involved with nearly all of the firm’s healthcare projects.

Rinkenberger’s client-focused, creative contributions have literally helped build the region. From small renovations to standalone medical offices, he provides leadership in a range of projects, with tasks including schedule development and monitoring, subcontractor coordination, material purchasing, cost estimates, budgeting, resource allocation and, ultimately, client satisfaction. By implementing infection control standards, safety policies and more useable cost summaries, Rinkenberger has streamlined the firm’s approach to healthcare construction. Among current projects, he is an instrumental part of planning for the building of the new Bethany Community Church in Washington, Illinois, where he and his family are members.

By teaching civil engineering and construction classes at Bradley University, Rinkenberger is also building the minds of the next generation. As a Sunday school teacher at Bethany Community Church, volunteer baseball coach at the Christian Center and volunteer basketball coach at South Side Mission, he teaches youth the values of teamwork, integrity and overall character.

Rinkenberger has served as project leader for Habitat for Humanity’s Rebuilding Together program and been involved in the Maui Jim Dive for Cover event to benefit South Side Mission. He is affiliated with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and the Central Illinois Chapter of Hospital Engineers.

Early in life, Rinkenberger recognized the value of hard work, integrity and leadership. From maintaining a garden and selling produce as a child to starting a lawn care business with his brother in sixth grade to designing house plans for an engineering firm in high school, Rinkenberger put these values to work. He has also participated in a range of physical activities, including a full Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. and a Half Ironman triathlon in Michigan. Rinkenberger and his wife, Heidi, have five children. iBi
