As principal at CliftonLarsonAllen, Rusty Gibson specializes in accounting and business consulting services for nonprofit entities and manufacturing/distribution companies. He is the nonprofit industry group leader in the central Illinois region and leads the Assurance Department in the Peoria office. A Certified Public Accountant, he belongs to the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Since joining the firm, Gibson has demonstrated leadership in a wide range of initiatives. A mentor and coach for his coworkers, he organized and led a task force that resulted in improved retention rates in the office. Unafraid to take on additional responsibilities in both his professional and personal life, Gibson always finds time to give back to his community. He has served on the board of directors at Crittenton Centers for five years, where he sits on the Finance Committee and has been vital in helping to lead the organization’s finances. From 2012 to 2013, he was treasurer of the organization and served on the Executive Committee.

For the past six years, Gibson has served on the board of the River Cup Foundation, holding the position of treasurer and secretary for the past four years. He also sits on Bradley University’s Smith Career Center Employer Advisory Board, helping to prepare students for employment and assisting the overall recruiting process.

In addition to coaching his daughter’s softball and soccer teams, Gibson and his wife have been very involved in volunteering and supporting a range of nonprofits and community events around the region, including Easter Seals, St. Jude, American Cancer Society, Junior League of Peoria, Limestone Alumni & Friends Association and the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce. iBi
