As co-owner of RC Race Management (RCRM), Bradley S. Henz is responsible for marketing, web and graphic design for all of the event management company’s races. He also serves as co-race director and lead timer, overseeing each of RCRM's nine annual races, as well as director of web sales and development for Publisher Services Inc., where he maintains a website of games and toys for the retail marketplace and a monthly newsletter for the hobby market.
Henz helped launch Run River City, Peoria’s first marathon, and has taken RCRM to a regional level as lead timer on events like the Lifetime Fitness Hillfest in Wisconsin and Nike’s Get Fly Relays in Chicago. In 2009, he was responsible for launching F.A.S.T. (Fun and Smart Training), a running group with an individualized coaching program, for which he serves as head coach. Since its inception, F.A.S.T. has grown from 10 to 50 to 70 seasonal participants.
Prior to becoming a coach, Henz participated in Team in Training, raising money to run the Indy Mini-Marathon in honor of his best friend’s brother and his own grandfather. He coached the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training for three years and has helped many others train for marathons and half-marathons while raising money to fight cancer.
The current vice president and former president of the Peoria Area Track and Field Club, Henz was one of its founding members. He initiated the club’s partnership with Carl Cannon’s CHOICES program to help clean up Springdale Cemetery and assist with routine grounds maintenance. A member of the USA Track & Field organization, he is also a Level 1 Certified Coach.
Henz’s RC Race Management has raised more than $30,000 for various charities, including the Heart of Illinois Special Recreation Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Illinois. For its partnership with JDRF and the Detweiller at Dark nighttime race, the company received a Community Partner Award. iBi
