The Big Picture Peoria nonprofit initiative started by Doug and Eileen Leunig is bringing public art to Peoria in a big way by focusing on arts education, public art and The Big Picture Street and Film Festival on October 13th. The Big Picture Street Festival will span two blocks of Adams Street in the Warehouse District with live mural painting, indoor installations, interactive public art, live music, dance performances, street artists, food and more. That evening, the Big Picture Film Festival will screen the top film submissions selected by guest judges Helen Caldwell, script supervisor of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul; Mary Givens, host and creator of Mics Uncut; and Seth Henrickson, director of Potterville. Visit bigpicturepeoria.org and follow them on Facebook for more information and ways to participate, volunteer or sponsor the events.
