Libraries transform lives. Books are just the beginning.
Peoria Public Library provides a library with an estimated value of $19.5 million to its patrons, including physical and digital titles. With five locations and a Bookmobile, it is one of the largest library systems in downstate Illinois. In addition to offering more than 1,300 programs annually for all ages, the library has about 30 various types of meeting spaces available for the community to reserve for free—everything from small study rooms to computer labs to a large 200-plus seat auditorium.
An average 1,800 people visit the library daily—from eager toddlers at our storytimes, to students studying for their SATs, to families and seniors taking advantage of our wealth of resources.
Our databases, many of them accessible online, provide trusted information on endless subjects. Scholarly journals. Newspapers from around the world. Genealogy databases. Current investment research. Consumer Reports. And on and on.
“The only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.” —Albert Einstein
