The Center for Youth and Family Solutions engages and serves children and families in need with dignity, compassion and respect, building upon individual and community strengths to resolve life challenges together.
The same core values that guided us during the creation of The Center for Youth and Family Solutions serve as our benchmarks and beacons of hope as we partner with children and families and communities from all walks of life in solving the challenges in the family lifecycle in modern society: treating everyone with dignity and respect, collaboration and partnership, excellence, dedication to achieving solutions, and a belief that change is possible.
Life is difficult for many people. An abused child longing to feel safe and loved. A mom trying to work through issues with her volatile teenage son. A couple on the brink of divorce. An isolated senior yearning for connection. These are just some of the challenges that bring people to our agency. In response, we provide the necessary tools and support for healing, to help people learn new skills and link them to the life-enhancing resources necessary to achieve a better future.
Our six program areas focus on serving children and families who have experienced life-changing trauma, abuse and neglect, or other significant life challenges. Our goal is to help each child and adult learn to cope with those experiences and help them achieve their fullest potential. Here are some examples of our outcomes from last year:
We provide hope. Our adoption program has made a lasting important impact in the lives of children who need a forever family. Last year, 228 infants and children were adopted through our program.
We are transforming wellbeing. Our strengths-based and goal-driven Behavioral Health Counseling program helped empower and assist 8,910 individuals in resolving their mental health and relationship difficulties.
Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention
We foster stability. The Center for Youth and Family Solutions was ranked number one among private agencies of comparable size for achieving permanency outcomes. This means children who have been abused or neglected and placed in foster care had the opportunity every child deserves: to grow up with a safe, stable and nurturing family.
Guardian Angel Home
We cultivate healing. Our residential program continues to see great outcomes for the young boys we serve—keeping kids safe while meeting their needs and helping them with a successful return to family or relatives, a community foster family home, or independent living.
New Day Senior Services
We champion independence. Our New Day Program supported, advocated for, and counseled over 500 seniors last year.
Youth, Family & Community Outreach Services (YFCOS)
We stabilize families and communities. Our Youth, Family and Community Outreach programs helped to stabilize 2,160 youth and their families. Many of these crisis situations occur when a teen has run away and parents are at a loss for how to help their child. We work with the family to de-escalate the immediate crisis and develop a safe plan for the youth.
How to Help
Our volunteers make a difference every day in the lives of children, seniors and families. They have a true spirit of generosity and bring hope to those in need. Whether teaching a child to read or visiting a lonely senior, our volunteers are an essential part of the work we do. Volunteering is a way to share your gifts, gain experience, meet new friends and give back to your community.
