To protect and nurture children and families.
Educating and strengthening children and families to build safe, vibrant communities where children thrive and families succeed.
We provide no-cost emergency and respite child care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to over 400 children in crisis each month. In addition to the 400 in our Nursery for care, more come to us in need of basic supplies such as formula, diapers, and wipes of which we provide over $40,000 worth each year. Our goal is to prevent child abuse and neglect while strengthening families.
Child Development Center
We provide high quality full-time daycare and early education services in a family-focused environment to at-risk children. To ensure the highest quality services are delivered, the CDC maintains accreditation from the Council on Accreditation, has been deemed by the Excelerate® Illinois Program to be a “GOLD Circle of Quality” Child Care Center, and has a Preschool for All Program.
Our Parent Educators provide lasting generation change through no-cost parent education classes, support groups and home visits that provide education, screenings and referrals to community resources. Home visits are statistically proven to break the cycle of abuse and neglect and we completed over 500 each year. The Family Advocacy Center supports family reunification and the prevention of foster care placement by promoting safety, permanency, and the well-being of children. In our first year, the Family Advocates have helped 86 families and 127 children.
