Established in 1985, the Community Foundation of Central Illinois is a philanthropic resource committed to connecting people who care with causes that matter.
The Community Foundation of Central Illinois will make a sustainable philanthropic impact in our community through visible leadership in connecting people who care with causes that matter.
The Community Foundation of Central Illinois carries out our mission by building permanent endowments as charitable capital for the central Illinois community. We maintain high professional standards in the investment and management of the funds entrusted to the Foundation. We also promote effective and efficient grant making to serve the current and future needs of central Illinois.
CFCI acts as a vehicle to serve donors with varied interests at various levels of charitable giving. We link donors with the charitable agencies that can most efficiently carry out their objectives and desires. We offer maximum flexibility in terms of assets that can be used to create a fund and options for the use of donors’ gifts.
The Women’s Fund endowment supports projects that strengthen families and communities by empowering women and girls. As women grow in influence and financial strength, so does their ability to give back. Since its inception, the Women’s Fund has contributed more than $375,000 in grants to support local nonprofit organizations. You can change the lives of women and children in central Illinois by contributing to the Women’s Fund endowment.
Our goal is to find 1,000 women to each donate $1,000 to create a million-dollar endowment—and we are halfway there! With this endowment, the Women’s Fund could provide over $40,000 a year to deserving programs.
Emerging Philanthropists Fund
The CFCI Emerging Philanthropists Fund is designed to invigorate emerging community leaders to join together as philanthropists. In just six years, the Fund has awarded over $30,000 to support innovative programs that serve an unmet need in the community. Membership is comprised of a cross-section of young professionals who have an interest in positively impacting the quality of life in our community through grantmaking.
Each year, as the Fund grows, a portion is regranted into the community. Join the Emerging Philanthropists Fund today and be a positive force in philanthropy for the central Illinois community.
Ending Hunger Together Fund
The Community Foundation of Central Illinois is leading the effort to address food insecurity in the region by working to create a framework that mixes healthy food access, economic/community development and community education. Grants will reflect multi-organizational efforts that address two of CFCI’s three key areas of interest related to food insecurity: increasing healthy food access, advancing community education, and creating economic/community development opportunities.
Please consider supporting the Ending Hunger Together Fund. Together, we can and will make a difference in central Illinois.
