To align community resources in support of public school strategies to raise student achievement, improve the health and happiness of Peoria’s children, and advance the economic and social well-being of their community.
The path to alignment begins when people come together to support a common vision. Align Peoria envisions all students graduating from high school with marketable employment skills and enrolling in post-secondary education and training. They are eager to live, work, learn, create and play in our region as contributing adults.
Align Peoria does not directly operate programs, but coordinates, integrates and aligns people, resources and data to improve student outcomes for children. Using a proven national model, Align Peoria facilitates powerful cross-sector collaboration and develops systemic solutions for Peoria Public Schools’ most pressing challenges.
In collaboration with schools and community partners, Align Peoria has identified four priorities:
- Graduation attainment
- College and career readiness
- Student and community health
- Family and community engagement
Each Alignment Team is co-chaired by a school district representative and a community member. Tactical plans produced by our Action Teams are approved by the Operating Board, which is comprised of co-chairs from each Action Team. In addition to the Governing and Operating Boards, we currently convene the following A-Teams:
- See it. Be it.
- Pathways to Opportunities
- Connecting Champions Mentoring
- Read Peoria!
- Futures in Focus
