Metamora Thespian Society brings a sneak peek of their production to IPDPL.
The Metamora Thespian Society is mounting a production of the musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown in late February, but the public can get a free sneak peek before the show opens. On February 15th, Illinois Prairie District Public Library will host two separate previews of the MTS production. At 10:00 am, the troupe will be at IPDPL-Metamora, 208 E. Partridge St., Metamora, IL, with a repeat preview at IPDPL-Germantown Hills, 509 Woodland Knolls Rd., Germantown Hills, IL, at 1:00 pm. Both presentations will include musical performances by members of the cast, photo opportunities with the performers, a show-themed gift basket raffle that includes 1 adult and 1 child ticket to the show, and a family-friendly craft project. This event is free and open to the public.
The Metamora Thespian Society performance of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown runs February 20 – 23, 2020, at the Metamora Fields Golf Club, 801 W. Progress St., Metamora, IL. Each performance is preceded by a buffet dinner. Thursday, Feb. 20 – Saturday, Feb. 22 the doors open and the buffet begins at 6:00 pm, with the show starting at 7:30 pm. Sunday, Feb. 23 the doors open and the buffet begins at 1:00 pm with the performance starting at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 4-10. About Metamora Thespian Society The Metamora Thespian Society is a local, non-profit community theatre group. Their goal is to bring live theatre experiences to Metamora, Illinois, and the surrounding areas. Started in 2015 by Curtis Rowden, Anita Rowden, and Vickie Brinkman, the group has gone on to perform several beloved musicals, plays, and regional premiers as well. All performances are located at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, Illinois. Although the entertainment is provided by The Metamora Thespian Society, Metamora Fields provides a delicious buffet for each production.
The Illinois Prairie District Public Library was formed in July of 1950. It is the second oldest library district in Illinois. It encompasses the northern half of Woodford County and covers 256 square miles. Today, the district serves roughly 22,000 inhabitants. The district provides service to its patrons through its branch libraries in Benson, Germantown Hills, Metamora, Roanoke, Spring Bay, and Washburn. The Metamora branch houses the district administrative staff.
