The Illinois Prairie District Public Library - Germantown Hills branch welcomes Ken Zurski on January 28 as part of our Local Author Series.
Mr. Zurski is a celebrated local author and historian whose works focus on people and moments from the past, stories that would otherwise be lost to posterity. His most recent publication is Unremembered: Tales of the Nearly Famous and
Not Quite Forgotten, a collection of essays on celebrities of days gone by whose exploits are no longer part of our contemporary culture. His previous works include Peoria Stories: Tales from the Illinois Heartland, a collection of stories about people and events that are part of the rich history of Central Illinois, and The Wreck of the Columbia: A Broken Boat, A Town’s Sorrow, & the End of the Steamboat Era on the Illinois River, about the worst maritime accident in the history of the Illinois River. Mr. Zurski will give a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A session and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
