Inaugural Brownfest 5K Race

2nd annual Brownfest benefiting the KB Strong foundation

September 5th, Outside in the South Parking Lot at Five Points Washington

Join us for the Inaugural BrownFest 5K Race, Saturday September 5th! 

Time: 9:00 AM

Place: Five Points Parking Lot

Cost: $35 preregister / $40 day of registration

Enjoy the 3.1 mile course around town and cross the finish line into BrownFest 2020.

Safety Precautions will be taken at the start and finish lines.

Southside Farmer's Market

In partnership with Southside Community United for Change, Intangible Mindz LLC, and the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, the city of Peoria is excited to announce a series of farmers markets based on the Southside. The Southside Farmer's Market aims to increase fresh, healthy food access in the Southside and engage neighborhood voices in the process.

The Market will operate on Saturdays, from August 22nd through October 10th, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at 210 S Western Avenue, Peoria, IL 61605.  Fresh food vendors will accept LINK and WIC for produce.

Voter Registration Drive

A voter registration drive will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Tower Park in Peoria Heights.

Computers will be made available for people to register online. There will be information on voter suppression. Additional information on when and where citizens can exercise that right also will be shared with those who attend.

This is a non-partisan event, but representatives of the various Peoria County party organizations also will be present to answer questions from those who may have them.
