27th Annual YWCA Leader Luncheon Awards

The YWCA's mission is to empower women. It celebrates empowered women-and those who empower others-perhaps most publicly with the annual YWCA Leader Luncheon Awards, held this year on April 27 at the Hotel Pere Marquette. The awards honor seven women who've made outstanding contributions to the Peoria area community through diverse means.

The numerous mail-order catalogs and magazines promoting the "hottest" new looks for spring 2005 have been arriving since January. It's only after the holiday shopping bills are paid off, taxes paid, and the weather stays above 65 degrees that I begin thinking about my spring wardrobe.
