In this month’s issue of iBi, we focus on the world of high technology… where augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are transforming a range of industries.
“The hardware (head-mounted displays, or HMDs) needed to view VR is coming down in price, making it accessible to more users, while the widespread availability of smartphones places the possibility of AR at anyone’s fingertips,” writes Annette Kiesewetter of CSE Software. “Altogether, this technology is a viable solution for training in a multitude of industries.”
How is CSE integrating AR and VR technologies into their work? Find out in “AR/VR: A Reality Check,” from the October 2017 iBi... and go behind the scenes with managing editor Jonathan Wright and photographer David Vernon for more on "AR/VR Technologies at CSE Software.”
Meanwhile, Simantel was lucky enough to win a pair of Snapchat Spectacles at a recent Advertising and Marketing Independent Network (AMIN) conference. Snapchat Spectacles—a camera slightly hidden in a pair of sunglasses that allows you to share a moment on Snapchat as your eyes see it—simultaneously pushed the company into the wearable space and the augmented reality game. Watch their team put the new technology to the test.
First, the specs were handed over to Darren Jackson-Adams, a graphic designer at Simantel with a keen artistic eye and a natural appetite for social media...
Next, Alicia Ruemelin, Simantel’s brand manager with years of experience in brand and social marketing, took a run at the specs.
Find Alicia and Darren’s complete review, “Snapchat Joins the Augmented Reality Game” in the October iBi—and special thanks to Darren for the most excellent graphic gracing this month’s cover!
