The Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) program is an education-based program that helps people better understand the cause/effect relationship between lifestyle choices (in the areas of diet, exercise and attitude) and disease. In two hours per week for 12 weeks, CHIP teaches participants how to eat more of the right foods and weigh less, reduce the risks of heart disease and cancer, and reverse conditions associated with the most prevalent chronic diseases. Two information meetings will be hosted by the Peoria CHIP team, including John Miller, MD on September 4th and 9th from 6 to 7pm at the Methodist Heart, Lung, and Vascular Institute, 2nd floor. The fall CHIP program will start September 16th and run through December 2nd, and will be held at the Methodist Heart, Lung, and Vascular Institute, 2nd floor.
