Newsflash

Many people believe that we were on the state park closing list, the one that's supposed to be reinstated. We firmly believe that for human well-being alone, that they indeed need reinstated. However, that list doesn't include us. It is with great sincerity that we ask you to please join us in the Prayer Ties Project.

Old Fashioned Christmas

ImageImagePlan now to celebrate the holidays with simple pleasures at Wildlife Prairie State Park’s "Old-Fashioned Christmas" event, Saturday, December 14th, 2008.   From 11am to 3pm, the Log Room will be filled with the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned prairie Christmas.

The laughter of children and the sound of Santa’s bells ring out across the grounds. Families are invited to enjoy a number of activities sure to bring back the flavor of Christmas past. Children can enjoy old-fashioned crafts and take a moment to write that all-important letter to Santa!  Dress warm if plan to join in and go Christmas Caroling to the animals.

Santa himself may stroll the grounds, listening to wishes and handing out treats for kids of all ages.  Don't forget your camera! In the past a few families have dressed in like-colors (red, black, white) and we've taken their family photo in front of the fireplace. Our rustic log room is just the place for the occasion.

Between activities, everyone can enjoy delicious holiday refreshments and shop for those special gifts at the Park’s gift shop.

Return to the rich traditions of the past and enjoy a time of family fun. Admission to this event is just the Winter Park Admission of $3.50 for ages13 and over, $2 for children ages 4-12, and children under 4 free. The Log Room is located in the Lower Level of the Visitor Center.
