Steve Klemm is marketing director for Leidos, a Fortune 500 science and technology solutions and services leader that contracts with Ameren Illinois to assist in the management and delivery of energy efficiency programs. In this role, he is responsible for lead generation, marketing and communications, community outreach and training.

A highly creative professional, Klemm has increased program participation through the development of unique marketing solutions and channels, including a series of “Energy Efficiency Superhero” ads, an appliance recycling campaign and the “Progressive City” road sign campaign. Utilizing social media, print and digital advertising, as well as the development of a new “Business Symposium” app, he has contributed greatly toward the achievement of Ameren Illinois' energy efficiency and customer savings goals.

Under Klemm’s guidance, the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program has received a string of prestigious awards, including the 2011 Illinois Governor's Sustainability Award, 2013 AEE Regional Energy Project of the Year, 2014 MEEA Inspiring Efficiency Marketing Award, 2014 Leidos Annual Achievement Award, 2014 Business Achievement Award from the Climate Change Business Journal, 2015 Chartwell Marketing Award, 2015 Outstanding Purveyor of the Year from the Heart of Illinois Hospitality Association, 2015 Certified Homes Market Leader Award by ENERGY STAR, 2016 Telly Award for Outstanding Video Story, and 2016 Crowd Pleaser Ad Award by ESource.

Prior to moving to Peoria in 2011, Klemm was named a Top Leader Under Forty by the Springfield Business Journal and Associate Member of the Year by the Springfield Home Builders Association. Now active in the Peoria community, he is trustee and webmaster of the Chapel Park Homeowners’ Association and has served in a range of capacities for the Peoria Area Illini Club. He has been a board member of the Peoria Area Young Republicans and served on various committees for the Heart of Illinois United Way, including its GENeration United emerging leaders initiative. Klemm has also volunteered for Midwest Food Bank, South Side Mission, Neighborhood House and Crittenton Centers. iBi
