Following last year’s success, ArtsPartners of Central Illinois and Bradley University’s Turner Center for Entrepreneurship are teaming up again for The Business of Art. The daylong event is designed to connect entrepreneurial artists with business professionals who can help them navigate the world of business.

Zac Whittenburg, Communications and Engagement Director from Arts Alliance Illinois, will open with a keynote, followed by breakout sessions on topics ranging from marketing, online selling and branding to grant writing and a number of business law and process issues. Breakout session speakers include artists, City of Peoria representatives, business and law consultants, and professionals from Bradley University. New this year is a lunch-panel discussion: as guests enjoy their meals, a panel of artist-entrepreneurs will reflect on their established businesses, from getting started to managing employees. Moderating the discussion is Ross Miller, Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Bradley.

The event rounds out with a networking session, with SCORE representatives available for free, confidential mentoring to guests interested in starting their own business or developing their existing businesses. Resource tables will also be available for artists seeking space or vendors for their work, or for information about local arts-related businesses.

The Business of Art takes place on Saturday, February 11th from 9am to 5pm at the Life Together Center, 3625 N Sheridan Road in Peoria. For tickets or more information, visit artspartners.net/the-business-of-art. iBi
