Determined to achieve the highest level of care for cancer patients in central Illinois, Kevin A. Hall is a consultant on strategy, medical documentation, billing and collections, operations and practice management at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Among his duties, he provides custom electronic healthcare record and medical software implementation, as well as employee training, staff assessment and productivity metrics. Utilizing his strong analytical and organizational skills, he has drastically improved the quality of services provided to OSF cancer patients.

Under Hall’s direction, OSF has expanded and developed a number of multidisciplinary cancer programs, including a partnership with the Cancer Support Community, an international nonprofit which Hall serves as a volunteer. Only the third of its kind in the country, the partnership gives patients access to a network of more than 50 licensed affiliates, 120 satellite locations and a vibrant online community.

In addition, Hall and OSF Cancer Services are in the final stages of developing a public health initiative to decrease the mortality rate from lung cancer by five percent over the next five years—an achievement that would represent the same improvement in patient survival as that achieved over the 25-year period from 1980 to 2006.

In collaboration with the Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center and University of Illinois, Hall works closely to support technology development for tumor boards, research and training in quality and patient safety, and multiple prevention and screening initiatives. In collaboration with Dr. James McGee, U of I engineers and research clinicians, he is working to develop anatomically correct mannequins to allow for simulated radiosurgery treatment procedures.

Hall is a published co-author and presenter in the field of oncology and has helped organize multiple events for OSF’s Spirit of Hope cancer prevention fundraiser. He is also an active participant in Kick Butts Day, a national campaign for tobacco-free youth; Party for a Purpose, a series of cancer awareness events; and Cancer Survivorship Day, a gathering to celebrate life after cancer. Hall holds a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton Business School and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Japanese. iBi
