As a project manager and estimator, Tom Meischner manages IT and marketing activities, coordinates safety services and program administration, and oversees construction activities for The Finch Companies, ensuring project completion by coordinating with project owners, architects, subcontractors and employees.

Meischner has led a wide range of projects throughout his career, including numerous additions and renovations in Peoria Public School District 150, the development of the Levee District in East Peoria, and the construction of a new central fire station and other renovations in the Limestone Township Fire Protection District. He also led the six-month process of upgrading Microsoft XP assets and transitioning to iPads and apps for field workers.

As a board member of the Greater Peoria Contactors & Suppliers Association, Meischner was involved in labor negotiations with the Mid-Central Illinois Regional Council of Carpenters. As a trustee for the Operating Engineers Local 649, he reviews quarterly financials to ensure the union benefit fund is being managed appropriately. Prior to working at The Finch Companies, Meischner was a Caterpillar employee for 14 years, where he demonstrated an ability to lead both multi-million-dollar projects and organizational teams at all levels.

Project management extends to Meischner’s community activities as well. He and his wife, Courtney, co-chaired the 2014 Wines and Polo on the Prairie event, which raised $130,000 for Easter Seals, and he has been a cabinet member for the Lyle Finch Memorial Claybird Classic since 2008, raising money for the Easter Seals Endowment Fund.

When not furthering the Easter Seals mission, Meischner has volunteered with Hooked on Fishing, an organization that teaches fishing to children, seniors and individuals with special needs, serving on the board of directors from 2010 to 2011. He recently became assistant province director for Delta Upsilon Fraternity, mentoring chapters at Bradley University, the University of Illinois, Western Illinois University and Northwestern University.

An avid sportsman, Meischner enjoys hunting, golfing, cycling and running, and has completed two half-marathons and three half-Ironman events. He and Courtney have two children, Blake and Addison. iBi
