Sandy Kostouros is marketing manager for Supply Chain Services International, a global supply chain services provider headquartered in Peoria, where she is responsible for the development and execution of a strategic marketing plan to promote SCSI’s value-added services and enhance the corporate brand. Upon joining the leadership team, she prepared large proposals aimed at securing multi-million-dollar contracts and launched a new corporate website, logo and extensive promotion plan. She also dramatically improved the firm’s customer focus by launching numerous customer governance and loyalty initiatives.

Kostouros previously worked at the Peoria Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she led the development of the Illinois River Country campaign and was on the steering committee for the IHSA March Madness Experience. She then spent a decade at Illinois Mutual, culminating as manager of the Marketing, Communications and Research Department, where she led the launch of a new line of disability insurance products, played the lead role in a three-year Hispanic initiative, and earned a number of awards through the Insurance & Financial Communicators Association. Besides earning numerous industry designations, she served on a range of strategic committees at Illinois Mutual, as well as the LIMRA Marketing and Research Conference Committee and the LIFE Foundation Company Advisory Council.

Kostouros became an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Bradley University, and served as secretary, vice-president and president of the Bradley University Communication Alumni Network (BU-CAN). As president, she joined numerous departments in receiving the 2011 Burgess Award for excellence in interdepartmental collaboration for their work preparing students for internship interviews for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

For two years, Kostouros served on the board of Camp Big Sky, overseeing the creation of a new name, logo, website, brochure and media kit, and in 2013, she volunteered to serve as co-leader of her daughter’s Daisy troop.

Both personally and professionally, Kostouros embodies what it means to be a leader. Not only does she make things happen, she motivates those around her to do the same—and they become better because of her influence. iBi
