For four years, Megan Pedigo has been director of marketing at the Peoria Civic Center, leading the marketing team and handling public relations, strategic planning, market research and customer service responsibilities. Heavily involved in the creation of the IGNITE Peoria concept, she was a dedicated member of the creative team for this inaugural celebration of local creativity, which exceeded expectations by welcoming far more attendees than projected.

Working with the Peoria Civic Center Authority Board, Pedigo assisted in developing the organization’s 2014-2015 strategic plan. She has led the marketing department through a complete overhaul of the Civic Center’s online presence, developing a new website and doubling its social media network, and is a member of the Employee Development Committee and the lead staff member assigned to the Sales and Marketing and Cultural Diversity committees.

Pedigo also impacts the community as a volunteer for a range of organizations. A member of the Young Professionals of Greater Peoria Board of Directors, she co-chairs its Social Committee and was a member of the ELITE youth program leadership team at Limestone High School. She serves on the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Membership and Marketing Committee, and is a former board member of the Illinois CancerCare Foundation, using her experience to help with its popular CUREageous event. As an instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Bradley University, she leads OLLI tours of the Civic Center and teaches a class focused on what goes on behind the scenes.

A 2013 Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School graduate and graduate of the Leaders Emerging to Advance Peoria (LEAP) program, Pedigo is described as a “rock star” in her industry, with a drive and determination that has few equals. When not promoting one of Peoria’s best-known attractions, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, and her dachshund-yorkie mix, Limmy. iBi
