As manager of Caterpillar’s Expanded Mining Inventory Management Team, Anna Blumeyer leads a global team of professionals responsible for managing forecast and stock control, customer service, and inventory at 11 facilities throughout the globe. She is also a leader on the teams transitioning customer distribution rights and associated assets to Caterpillar dealers and integrating the Expanded Mining parts into the Caterpillar distribution network.

Among her career accomplishments, Blumeyer led the implementation of Caterpillar’s new service parts forecasting system, a joint development with Ford and SAP. This incredibly complex module, which impacts hundreds of employees and hundreds of millions of dollars of inventory, was delivered on time, under budget and error-free. She also provided leadership to the team that developed Caterpillar’s SAP Transaction Simulator, an effort which won her team the Logistics Division’s quality improvement award in 2011.

Blumeyer led the Service Parts inventory portion of the process to transition customer distribution rights and assets acquired in the acquisition of Bucyrus International to the Cat dealer network—a global effort involving seven ERP systems and billions of dollars at risk. She also has responsibility for implementing the Caterpillar Forecasting and Inventory Management system at each of the eight main warehouses acquired in the Bucyrus acquisition.

Since Blumeyer assumed leadership of the former Bucyrus Inventory Management team, their engagement—Caterpillar’s measure of employee satisfaction—has improved from 65 to 92 percent, an unprecedented increase. She is both a certified Change Master and a certified 6 Sigma Black Belt, and has been selected to numerous programs for emerging leaders at Caterpillar, including the Powering Up program with Bradley University, offered by invitation only from a company vice president.

Highly involved in her community, Blumeyer is a role model for young people, using sports to teach character development. She serves as a recreational league basketball coach and leads fundraising efforts for the Dee-Mack JFL program, while supporting Junior Achievement as a classroom coach. iBi
