As project manager for River City Construction, Leanne L. Skuse oversees construction activities from planning to completion, including contract administration, scheduling, billing and safety, and serves as the primary communications liaison among the project owner, design team, subcontractors and suppliers. In this role, she has led several multi-million dollar projects, including the recent construction of the Heddington Oaks senior care facility, renovation of the United Way property on High Street, and the five-building remodel and expansion of the Peoria Public Library system. She has also contributed her talents to numerous construction projects for Caterpillar Inc., Wiesner Development and Northminster Presbyterian Church, always delivering on time, on budget and to specifications.

Not only does Skuse use her energy and enthusiasm to complete large-scale construction developments, she instills the same dedication and vigor in support of key community initiatives. She regularly gives her time to GENeration United, the Heart of Illinois United Way’s emerging leaders group, serving on its CONNECT Committee. She is also a graduate of GEN U’s BoardSERVE initiative, a member of the planning committee for its annual Snowball Masquerade and a past Mad Dash captain. She is the coordinator of River City Construction’s United Way campaign, and currently serves in an advisory role on the United Way’s Success by 6 Committee, an early childhood advocacy group. In addition, Skuse serves on the board of the Canton YWCA and volunteers for Junior Achievement of Central Illinois and Rebuilding Together Peoria.

A LEED-accredited professional, Skuse is also a part-time adjunct faculty member at Bradley University and member of the Bradley University Alumni Association. She is a 2012 graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School and holds certifications from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. According to her colleagues, Skuse “sets a high standard for employees” and “epitomizes the ideals of an effective young leader.” iBi
