As senior estimator for P.J. Hoerr Inc., Gabriel M. Rodriguez is responsible for managing the business’ estimating services, including GMP budgeting and construction management delivery. His resume of projects spans the areas of healthcare, medical research and higher education, and across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

Going above and beyond his job description, Rodriguez has taken the initiative to reach out to prospective clients and expand the firm’s marketing reach. He led the upgrade of its technology infrastructure, achieving new levels of sophistication in its data storage and estimating capacities. He is also an adjunct professor at Bradley University, teaching courses within the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction and serving on its advisory board, and a member of the Associated General Contractors of America.

Offering his expertise in civic affairs, Rodriguez has served on Peoria’s Race Relations Commission, through which he organized workshops to increase minority involvement in the building trades. He has also addressed the state of the economy relative to construction during a business roundtable sponsored by State Sen. Dave Koehler.

Active in an array of volunteer efforts, he is a South Side Mission Biddy Basketball coach and helps organize the March of Dimes’ annual golf tournament, March for Babies Walk and various other activities. He is Music Ministry worship leader at Richwoods Christian Church and assists at the Agape Foundation’s annual Christmas charity event. An avid runner, he ran the 2012 Chicago Marathon to raise money for St. Jude and organized a 5k fundraiser to help South Side Mission provide uniforms for its basketball team.

Rodriguez is a recipient of Bradley University’s Global Explorer Scholarship Award; past winner of the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association Scholarship; and was selected as a project engineer for the construction of the Ford Engineering Design Center at Northwestern University, which received the prestigious Chicago Building Congress Merit Award. A lifelong central Illinois resident, Rodriguez is a graduate of Bradley University and resides in Washington with his wife, Lindsay, and their two sons, Jaxson and Zeke. iBi
