As manager of ambulatory informatics, Angelia Camacho leads a team of analysts supporting OSF physician practices across seven regions. Alongside running queries and analyses on clinical data, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations within her department, providing leadership to transform financial, operational and clinical data into meaningful information. Camacho has been instrumental in advocating for electronic medical record changes that have improved OSF’s care delivery, as well as developing the queries necessary for the organization to achieve Level 3 NCQA Medical Home Certification.

Working tirelessly to improve the healthcare experience for youth with special needs, Camacho has served as a parent partner for the OSF Medical Group Home Quality Improvement Team, which seeks to improve the quality of care delivered to children with complex healthcare needs. The matriarch of an Easter Seals Ambassador Family and a VIP team leader, she has been able to share her personal journey as a mother of a child with special needs, speaking at fundraisers like the Happy Shooter Golf Classic, Three Little Pigs Roast, Wines and Polo on the Prairie, and Girls’ Night Out. In addition, she has chaired numerous raffles and events for Easter Seals and operated the phones at its annual telethon, raising nearly $24,000 to benefit the organization.

Camacho has been recognized for her work supporting a number of strategic initiatives at OSF, including quality measure reporting, assisting with the development of Accountable Care Organization reporting, and helping to create patient registries enabling improvements in chronic disease management. She has also contributed her expertise to multiple publications, including an article entitled “Building Community Based Medical Homes,” published by the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2011, and the Fall 2011 edition of Children’s Hospital of Illinois’ Building Blocks magazine.

With compassion and an always-positive attitude, Camacho skillfully manages a successful career while generously devoting “a treasure of time” to helping others. She and her husband, Ben, reside in Morton with their two sons, Zachary and Alexander. iBi
