Tom Lunsford is a senior accounting supervisor at Caterpillar Inc., where he leads a team of accountants that forecasts and consolidates nearly $2 billion of financial reporting information for power train components manufactured in eight locations around the world. He has advised Caterpillar management and led financial analysis on numerous high-profile projects that have invested more than $500 million in transmission, power train and electric drive system manufacturing operations.

Lunsford is a formal mentor in the Advanced Components & Systems Division at Caterpillar and an informal mentor to accounting staff around the Peoria area. As a member of the Experienced Professional Direct Hire and Young Professionals affinity groups, he recruits accounting professionals to Caterpillar and regularly speaks to Bradley University students about accounting careers.

Placing a high value on continuous learning, Lunsford consistently seeks out additional learning opportunities to supplement his extensive formal education. In addition to an accounting degree and MBA, he holds a law degree and is a licensed attorney, certified public accountant and Six Sigma Green Belt. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society and the Indiana Bar Association.

Active in the Morton community, Lunsford assists the PTO at Grundy Elementary School and is a youth sports coach for the Morton Youth Basketball Association, Morton Youth Soccer Organization and Morton Youth Baseball Association. He is a member of a task force for the Peoria Promise Foundation, helping to develop metrics for the organization, and has served on the Finance Committee at Wildlife Prairie Park. He is also a graduate of the Leaders Emerging to Advance Peoria Leadership Academy of the Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria and regular volunteer for the annual CPA Day of Service.

An avid runner and member of the Illinois Valley Striders, Lunsford can be found participating in community running events such as the Steamboat Classic. He is also a dedicated husband and father of two young children. iBi
