Tommy Arbuckle is a program management supervisor in the Mossville Engine Center Project Management Office of the Large Power Systems Division at Caterpillar Inc. He is responsible for the supervision of personnel who oversee after-treatment, cooling products, component applications, MACH1, C145 core engine, facility start-up and transformation projects. He is also the lead for the JLG Industries Telehandler Master Control Plan, which communicates to stakeholders build dates and products issues across the engine, transmission and machines.
Arbuckle led a $1.4-million cost-savings resource project and a $2.4 million cost-savings Lean 5S initiative for Cat Electronics labs, and he is the lead in the development of new project management offices in Cat Electronics and Large Power Systems, two of the company’s major divisions. Through the Caterpillar African American Network’s professional development mentoring program, Arbuckle shares his experience and knowledge with a mentee, leveraging internal and external networks to facilitate connections.
In addition to his professional roles, Arbuckle is a leader in a number of community organizations. He serves on the board of AFE Construction, Inc., which provides residential housing for low- to moderate-income families and renovates public housing apartments and homes. Through this organization, Arbuckle mentors minority- and women-owned small businesses and counsels homeowners on home maintenance and repairs.
Arbuckle is also an ordained minister with Judah International Ministries, and helps lead an early morning intercessory prayer meeting via teleconference twice a week.
Arbuckle is a member of the City of Peoria’s Sustainable Development Committee and president of Business Leaders of Mackinaw. He is a graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School, an EPA-certified Lead Safe Professional, certified Weatherization Project Management Professional, and EPA-certified Energy Portfolio Manager.
In addition to a demanding job and his community service, Arbuckle makes time to be involved in the lives of his wife and five daughters, and can frequently be found opening his home to extended family members and friends in need. iBi
