John Redlingshafer is an associate at the law firm of Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, where he handles complex transactions and issues for public bodies, including negotiations for intergovernmental agreements and compliance with statutory regulations. He manages all aspects of litigation from inception through completion, and maintains close relationships with townships, road districts, municipalities and private corporations to help them assess and solve legal problems. He also represents property owners in eminent domain and zoning cases.

Redlingshafer serves on a number of legal boards and professional committees. He is president of the Illinois Township Attorneys Association and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s PR Committee and Local Government Law Section Council. He serves on several committees for the Peoria County Bar Association, as well as its board of directors, and is a statewide speaker on a variety of topics for the Township Officials of Illinois and the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and a barrister in the Abraham Lincoln Inn of Court.

In addition to serving on the Tazewell County Republicans Executive Committee and as a precinct committeeman for the past three years, Redlingshafer recently announced his candidacy for a seat on the Tazewell County Board, demonstrating continued efforts to lead in his community.

Redlingshafer serves on the Peoria Friendship House Board, holding several leadership positions, including his current role of president. Through the Friendship House, he utilizes his skills to help those who would not otherwise have the means to create wills and powers of attorney.

Through the Peoria County Bar Association’s Law Day, Redlingshafer takes time to talk to students at local schools about a legal career and how it enables him to help others. He also instills confidence in youth and teaches the importance of teamwork through his volunteer work as a tee-ball and softball coach with the Washington Park District. iBi
