Mayer coordinates the technical and design aspects of architecture projects and is responsible for the development of schematic design documents through construction documentation for a wide range of projects.

The first Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional in the criminal justice group at PSA Dewberry, Mayer was the project architect on the award-winning Metropolitan Nashville/Davidson County Courthouse renovation and historic restoration in Nashville, Tennessee. This project received an Award of Excellence from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Tennessee Chapter in 2007 and a citation from the AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice Facility Review in 2009.

A demonstrated leader in the community, Mayer has been active in the Junior League of Peoria for the last decade, currently serving as treasurer. Through her work with the Junior League, Mayer has helped lead several projects, including the Peoria PlayHouse, and is involved in the project’s capital campaign, design process and public education.

An active member of the First English Lutheran Church, Mayer serves on the Church Council and Social Concerns Committee. For the last four years, she has coordinated the Care Giving Tree, which donates Christmas gifts to foster children served by Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.

Mayer has also served on the board of Lutheran Campus Ministry of Illinois since 2001, and is currently the group’s treasurer. LCMI oversees campus ministries at six different college campuses in Illinois and launched a full-time ministry at Northern Illinois University in the wake of the tragic 2008 shooting.

Mayer volunteers her time to encourage young people, and especially young women, to consider careers in architecture and engineering. She is a long-time presenter at the Construction Industry Career Expo and has also presented at TRICON’s Women in Construction Day.

For her dedication to serving others, Mayer received the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The Junior League of Peoria has recognized her twice with the Julep Gem Award, as well as the Beady Award and as an Outstanding Committee Member for her work on the Peoria Play House.
