Jonathan Williams is a vice-president at Commerce Bank, responsible for cultivating and sustaining relationships by providing financial solutions utilizing lending, credit and other financial services products. His work also includes loan interviewing, resolving customer problems, cross-selling products and analyzing complex financial statements while managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of commercial loans, leases and deposits.

Williams has received many recognitions and awards since joining Commerce Bank just three and a half years ago. He was named the Commerce Bank Prospecting Leader of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. In 2008, he was awarded the Commerce Bank Sales Excellence Award and was named Outstanding Commercial Banker of the Year.

Williams dedicates a great deal of his time to volunteer activities. Since 2007, he has mentored two grade school students through the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program, and he is a past member of that organization’s board of directors and past corporate partnership chair. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors and past board chairman of the Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria, board member of the Hult Health Education Center and treasurer of its Finance Committee, and member of the HOI United Way Strategic Planning and Allocations committees.

Williams is also a member of the board of directors, assistant treasurer of the finance committee, nominating committee chairman and a member of the conductor search committee for the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. He is a past member of the board of directors for the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of its Community Leadership School. Williams previously held several positions with the Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters, including member of the board of directors, corporate partnership chair, and he served on the organization’s finance and annual Mardi Gras Ball planning committees.

In all aspects of his life, Williams inspires others to grow and succeed each day through his dedication, structured discipline, intelligence, sense of humor and commitment to excellence. A leader is someone who others choose to follow, and the Peoria community will prosper for many years to come as others follow Williams’ lead. iBi
