Jamie Durdel serves as the senior vice president of program services for Tazewell County Resource Centers, Inc. In this role, he oversees all programs for developmentally disabled adults and children. He is in charge of the operation of seven programs and 11 different sites throughout Tazewell County, and has supervisory responsibility of approximately 90 staff members who provide services to those with disabilities.

During the four and a half years Durdel has worked for the Tazewell County Resource Centers, he has completed and received a federal grant of over half a million dollars from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to build a new six-bedroom group home in Tazewell County for people with disabilities. He has helped grow the residential and day training programs, and has been involved in numerous other projects that have led to better, more productive lifestyles for those with disabilities, such as the construction of three new group homes and a new day training facility in Morton. Durdel was also part of the management team involved in TCRC’s 25th anniversary capital campaign.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Durdel is an active member in the East Peoria Rotary Club and the East Peoria Youth Baseball Board of Directors. He has been an East Peoria Little League travel team coach for the past three years and an East Peoria Youth Girls Softball coach for the past two. He has served on the corporate teams of Rebuilding Together since 2000 and participates with Relay for Life and Clean Sweep. He is also a Salvation Army bell ringer.

Durdel was selected as the Children’s Home Employee of the Year in 2001 and earned the designation of Certified Trainer of Trainers for Therapeutic Crisis Intervention from Cornell University.

He is always willing to help out in any area of human services that he can. He volunteers numerous hours in the community, leads by example, and works tirelessly to advocate for those who need assistance. iBi
