Amy Whiting is an original partner of SBSi Semonis, an employee benefits firm that designs, implements and manages solutions for its clients’ benefits needs. As representative for several of the group health clients managed by the company, Whiting works closely with employers and vendors to ensure smooth implementation of benefits and prompt customer service.

From the beginning of her career, Whiting has worked with all business lines of coverage including personal, commercial and health insurance. Her additional experience with accounting and business transactions provides a strong understanding of the client’s business environment and the issues that factor into making their buying decisions.

As a founding member of the agency, Whiting has been a key part of its success. Her drive and commitment have helped the small business thrive and provide top-notch services and products to customers. She is involved in the hiring process for new associates and plays a key role in training those employees as well. Whiting also works with those having difficulty with health insurance claims, many of whom are dealing with illness or catastrophic events in their lives. She steps in with compassion, expertise and understanding to determine clients’ issues, and works with the various insurance companies to resolve them.

Whiting is also very active in the community. She is a member of the Pekin Area Chamber Marigold Festival Committee and acting president of the Pekin Kiwanis Club. She participates in countless events and fundraising activities for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, such as the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run, A Toast for St. Jude Kids and the St. Jude Wellness Walk. She has also served as co-coordinator of the Macomb to Peoria Run, and was a Girl Scout leader and board member for Pekin Main Street.

In addition to her full-time career and volunteer service, Whiting is dedicated to her family. A loving wife and mother of three girls, she is very involved with her daughters and their activities, including Girl Scouts, softball and swimming. She strives to show her children how important it is to be dedicated to work hard in their daily lives and become involved in their community. iBi
