A Roundtable Discussion
The nonprofit sector is an essential part of the character of central Illinois, and the Peoria area is well known for being one of the most charitable communities in the nation. In this issue, we take a look at some previous 40 Leaders Under Forty award winners who were—and are—some of the region’s strongest leaders in the not-for-profit arena.
The vision of Dream Center Peoria is to change lives and communities by empowering people to realize their dreams—through dedication, relationships, education, action, ministry and support.
The common answer from people when questioned as to why they did not give a gift to a charity is: “I was not asked.”
Promoting the greater good can also advance the bottom line. A corporate giving program maximizes human capital and financial resources, enhances job satisfaction, aids in employee recruitment and retention, increases brand awareness and promotes profitability.
