As human resource manager for Belcan Corporation, Laurie Trompeter is responsible for the HR management, support and training of over 200 employees. She also serves as account manager for the tech services division, supervising client-site engineering employees.

Trompeter also manages Belcan’s recruiting team, and under her leadership, the team has increased its hiring by more than 75 percent. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources and an immigration specialist, working with multiple offices to ensure compliance with Department of Homeland Security regulations for employment and recordkeeping.

Trompeter is a member of the Heart of Illinois HR Council and participates in Employers’ Association HR roundtables and the Bradley University Academic Majors and Minors Fair. She speaks in undergraduate business courses at Bradley about careers in human resources and conducted a seminar on the topic of engineering staffing firms for the University’s Smith Career Center.

A graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School, Trompeter is dedicated to a number of community organizations, including Women in Leadership of Central Illinois, Race for the Cure, Peoria Area Sigma Kappa Alumnae and the Junior League of Peoria. Since joining the Junior League in 2001, Trompeter has been involved in many projects, such as Kids in the Kitchen, Keepsacks for Kids, “I Like Me!” and the Rolling River Playground. She has served as the assistant chair of the placement committee and will hold the position of leadership training and development chair this year, working to train the League’s present and future leaders.

Trompeter has received numerous awards for her service in Junior League: the Above and Beyond Award, Making a Difference Award, Julep Gem and Gold Level Training Certificate. She received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, multiple Wings of Success awards from Belcan Corporation, and Alumna of the Year and Sigma Kappa Alumnae Woman of the Year awards from the Bradley University Sigma Kappa Chapter.

Laurie Trompeter is caring, compassionate and driven to help others succeed. She is an unsung hero who is willing to pitch in and do the little things that make projects successful. iBi
