Jeff Jensen is a materials performance engineering supervisor for sustainable materials technology, part of the Advanced Materials Technology Division at Caterpillar Inc. He is responsible for leading the materials technology strategies for high-temperature engine applications, alternative energy, lightweight alloys and composites, and advanced joining technologies.

Jensen is effective in coaching his employees in career planning and professional skills development. He is committed to bringing engineering talent into Caterpillar and coordinating their involvement with the Advanced Materials Technology Division through the engineering rotation program.

Jensen has been a member of several award-winning teams recognized through Caterpillar’s Annual Quality Improvement competition. He was a Wave 1 Green Belt on the first Six Sigma project to become financially certified at the Technical Center and is a graduate of Bradley University’s Management for the 21st Century program.

In the community, Jensen was secretary of the Dunlap Grade School Parents Club and has helped with the Dunlap School District Summer Gifted Camp. He has served as an elder at Bethany Baptist Church, where he has taught college and adult classes, and currently helps with AWANA children’s ministries, serving in the nursery and participating in music ministry.

Jensen is an active member in the American Society for Metals’ (ASM) Peoria chapter and has served as chair for the education, reception, website and program committees. He has taught the ASM’s “Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist” course and a microstructures workshop for a high materials camp. Jensen also serves on that Industrial Advisory Committee for the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Iowa State University and has participated in materials demonstrations at Lakeview Museum during Engineers’ Week.
