Eric Bachman, a licensed professional engineer, has worked for Farnsworth Group for the past 10 years and has gained experience in transportation systems and bridge planning, design and construction. His duties include all phases of project development and completion for municipalities, counties and state departments of transportation.

Bachman serves as a true advocate for clients, helping them understand projects while ensuring their goals are met. He has provided expertise on many local projects, including the Grandview Drive Reconstruction, Sheridan Triangle Business District, University of Illinois Medical Office, Eagle View TIF District and the Allen Road Widening.

He leads by example, whether leading a soccer team or a community project. Bachman would say his single greatest accomplishment as a leader is parenthood. The father of two children, he is very involved in their education, activities and educational associations in the area.

Bachman understands the importance of volunteer service and giving back to his community. He has been involved in designing and constructing the Village of Metamora hiking and biking trail, as well as the installation of the Lincoln Statue and Lincoln Wayside sign exhibits in the historic downtown square. He was a key volunteer in helping the Village of Indian Head Park construct Sacagawea Park. Bachman and his engineering team donated their time and labor installing concrete foundations, decorative benches and tables, and landscaping.

Bachman takes every opportunity to support the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. He volunteers on an annual basis with the Illinois  Society of Professional Engineers’ MATHCOUNTS program. Bachman has participated in the Polar Dive for Cover and supports organizations such as South Side Mission, the United Way, Easter Seals, Adopt a Family, Veterans of Foreign Wars and overseas missionaries.

While serving in the Illinois Army National Guard, Bachman was recognized for outstanding service and leadership and was presented with the Army Achievement Medal twice.

Bachman’s engineering projects have directly impacted members of the communities in which he plays a role. Whether new roadways, bridges or bike paths, Eric Bachman helps to develop and maintain the infrastructure that makes our communities better places to live. iBi
