As a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, Nathan R. Bach assists the Honorable James Shadid in all phases of federal litigation. This includes managing civil and criminal dockets, advising the court on pending motions and oral arguments, conducting legal research, drafting court orders, supervising student interns and more. From the time he was a young prosecutor in the state’s attorney’s office, Bach has earned the respect of colleagues for his organization and effectiveness.

Among his accomplishments, Bach was selected by the board president of the Peoria County Bar Association to serve with five past presidents on its Nominating and Membership committees. This year, he was elected to the board itself, and currently chairs its Young Lawyers Committee. In this role, he has developed a mentoring program for Bradley University pre-law students and helps coordinate its philanthropic events.

Bach has been an active participant and chair of numerous committees for Law Day, and a featured speaker at the LEAP Leadership Academy and the Peoria Kiwanis Club. He also participated in the 2011 Citizens Summit to help develop the future image of Peoria and is a member of the Abraham Lincoln Inn of Court and Illinois State Bar Association.

An active volunteer, Bach coordinated a campaign to collect suits and other professional attire and coach participants in mock interviews for Dress for Success Peoria. As a PARC board member, he serves on the Board Development Committee and helps to develop funding sources to maintain its services. A strong supporter of Peoria Promise, Bach serves on its Young Leaders Advisory Board, Logistics Committee and Student Success Committee, and mentors students at Illinois Central College and Peoria High School. He also serves on the board of the Young Professionals of Greater Peoria, and has devoted time to the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, Easter Seals and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Peoria. iBi
