Dr. Amanda Wright is a board-certified family medicine physician with Methodist Medical Center, overseeing the healthcare needs of families throughout central Illinois. Last year, she opened her own Family Medicine and Obstetrics practice with Methodist and was extensively involved in its startup, from site selection to the development of a long-term business plan.

Wright also serves as laboratory director and site lead physician for Methodist Medical Group at North Knoxville. Due in part to her efforts, the Knoxville practice has been honored for reaching the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction every year since it opened. She is a preceptor for medical students and residents, and for the Women’s Health Fellowship through Methodist and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.

Within Methodist Medical Group, Wright is a member of the OB Interdisciplinary Committee, Clinical Automation Committee, Wellness Committee and Patient Experience Improvement Committee. She has also served as a guest lecturer for the annual Women’s Lifestyle Show presented at the Peoria Civic Center.

In addition to her professional roles, Wright works with the Friends of the Children of Haiti, which runs a medical clinic in the impoverished country for several weeks throughout the year. As part of this group, she donates her time and skills to treat the healthcare needs of many of the country’s poor and underserved. This March will mark her fourth year of service through the group. In addition, she serves on the board of directors for the Children’s Home Association of Illinois.

Wright is an active participant in the community, a small business leader and an advocate for the general welfare and quality of local medical care. She received the Resident Research Award in 2010 and the Family Medicine Award in 2007, and is an active member of the Sigma Sigma Phi and Knoerle Forum honor fraternities. iBi
