Since it came to life six years ago, the First Fridays studio tour has been a fixture of Peoria’s arts scene, offering residents and visitors an inside look at local artists’ studios and art galleries on the first Friday of every month. But with most of the participating studios located within the City of Peoria, much of the wider region was left somewhat out of the loop.
Inspired by the success of First Fridays, an alliance of artists and organizations across the river has come together to launch the Tazewell Art Loop. Sponsored by the Morton and Pekin Chambers of Commerce and the Tremont and Delavan communities, the monthly event features local art exhibits, demonstrations and live performances—plus dynamic experiences and specials at local shops and restaurants.
