10/16. Andy Gross, comic, magician and ventriloquist, performs at the Limelight Eventplex at 7pm.

10/16. Superstar comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy reunite for the We’ve Been Thinking Tour, coming to the Peoria Civic Center Arena at 7:30pm.

DANCE
9/4, 9/18, 10/2, 10/16. The Contemporary Art Center hosts Salsa at the CAC on the first and third Fridays of the month from 8:30pm to 12:30am.

10/16 – 10/17. The Central Illinois Ballet, performance company to the Cornerstone Academy for Performing Arts,will present Dracula: Dance on the Dark Side in the ICC Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm.

EXHIBITS
Ongoing. A rotating exhibit of Illinois Art League members’ work is on display at the Peoria Heights Public Library during library hours.

Ongoing. Sculpture Walk Peoria features 15 large-scale sculptures along Washington Street in Peoria, with guided tours leaving the Peoria Riverfront Museum at 10am and noon on Saturdays through September.

Thru 9/7. Engaging & Enriching: Recent Acquisitions will be on display in the Folk Art Gallery at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

Thru 9/18. Personal Codes III, featuring paintings by Michiko Itatani, will be on display in the Heuser Art Center at Bradley University.

Thru 9/25. Playbill posters by designer Gary Will will be on display in Bradley University’s Hartmann Center Gallery.

Thru 10/4. The Dinosaurs in Motion exhibit continues its run at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

Thru 10/24. Reflective Hues, featuring the still life and floral paintings of Sheryl Burritt and Florence Gaffney, will be on display in the Foster Gallery for Christianity and Fine Arts at the First United Methodist Church in Peoria.

Thru 10/31. The Caterpillar Dieselettes: The Girls of Summer exhibit of memorabilia documenting the world’s longest-running women’s softball team is on display at the Caterpillar Visitors Center.

Thru 12/31. The Diocesan Museum in the Spalding Pastoral Center features The Rectory exhibit during regular hours. The adjacent Fulton J. Sheen Museum offers a permanent exhibit on the life and legacy of the famous archbishop.

9/4 – 9/30. While He Was Sleeping…, a photography exhibit by Barbara Hoffman dealing with illness, confinement and sunlight, will be on display in Burgess Hall Art Gallery at Eureka College, with a reception on 9/18 from 3 to 7pm.

9/4, 10/2. A variety of art galleries and artist studios open their doors from 5 to 9pm for First Fridays.

9/4 – 9/12. The Sheared Edge will present Forest Lush in the gallery at Studios on Sheridan, with an immersive, multisensory experience including art, a DJ and much more on 9/4 from 5 to 9pm.

9/4 – 9/30. An exhibit of painted tree bark by Don Kettleborough will be on display at Exhibit A Gallery, with an opening reception on 9/11 from 5 to 8pm.

9/5 – 9/16. The Peoria Art Guild Members’ Show will be on display during gallery hours.

9/15 – 11/15. Awkward Family Photos, a traveling exhibition, will be on display in the Folk Art Gallery at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

9/18 – 10/9. CIAO will hold its annual exhibit, Hot CIAO II, at Studios on Sheridan in the Sunbeam Building, with an opening reception on 9/18 from 6 to 9pm.

9/23 – 11/6. Envisioned Worlds, featuring lithographs from the Hokes medical archives, will be on display in the Heuser Art Center at Bradley University, with a lecture on 9/24 at 5pm and reception at 6pm.

10/2 – 10/30. An exhibit of glass art by Rick Melby and Hiram Toraason will be on display at Exhibit A Gallery, with an opening reception on 10/9 from 5 to 8pm.

10/5 – 11/6. Marginalized, featuring the work of Gerda Meyer Bernstein, will be on display in the Hartmann Center at Bradley University, with a reception on 10/22 at 6pm.

10/10 – 11/4. The works of Christina LaMaster, Joy Christiansen Erb and Trina Perry Carlson will be on display at the Peoria Art Guild.

10/17 – 1/17/2016. Making Their Mark: Illinois Women Artists, 1940-1960 and Gypsy Coeds Ride the Silver Streak will be on display at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

FESTIVALS
9/4 – 9/5. The 27th annual Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival, featuring Jonny Lang, Taj Mahal, Robert Randolph & The Family Band and many more, takes place on the Peoria Riverfront.

9/6. The Grape Stomp and Harvest Festival takes place at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard from noon to 6pm.

9/10 – 9/13. The 2015 Marigold Festival will take place in Pekin.

9/16 – 9/19. The 49th annual Morton Pumpkin Festival takes place in downtown Morton.

9/18 – 9/20. The Chinquapin Folk Arts Music Festival at Camp Wokanda will feature ghost stories, children’s activities, live music, storytelling, and more.

9/18 – 9/20. The 20th annual Peoria Oktoberfest, hosted by the German American Central Society and Peoria Park District, takes place at Festival Park on the Peoria Riverfront.

9/26 – 9/27. The Peoria Art Guild’s 53rd annual Fine Art Fair takes place on the Peoria Riverfront from 10am to 5pm.

10/8 – 11/8. Hogwart’s Garden of Botanical Wonders, a new chrysanthemum show, takes place at Luthy Botanical Garden during garden hours.

LECTURES
10/8. The Fine Arts Society of Peoria hosts Dr. Kristine Nielsen, assistant professor of art history at Illinois Wesleyan University, who will present Confronting Inglorious Monuments: Postwar German Memorial Sculpture at 10am at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

10/22. Curator Robert Cozzolino will speak at 5pm in the Caterpillar Global Communication Center as part of the Visual Voices Lecture Series at Bradley University.

MUSIC
Thru 10/30. Live at the Five Spot takes place on Fridays at the Contemporary Art Center from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
